Hi there! My name is Nayeli, and I am a dietitian based in San Diego, California.

My passion for foods and nutrition stemmed from a young age. When I was in grade school, I met with a dietitian for the first time to help me lose weight. Since then, I knew that I wanted to become a dietitian myself to help people learn about food and how to prepare healthy meals at home. In 2016, I attained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Food Science and Nutrition from San Diego State University (SDSU). I waited a few years after graduating to apply for a Dietetic Internship (DI) and worked for a weight loss clinic in the meantime. I completed the San Diego WIC Dietetic Internship Program in 2020 and passed the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Exam in the summer of that year to become a Registered Dietitian.

One of the most challenging, yet gratifying aspects of my career has been helping people with busy schedules to plan out healthy and satisfying meals for themselves and/or for their families. While working at the weight loss clinic and at my current role in a community nutrition program, I have worked with people who hold all types of busy professions – medical professionals, teachers, parents, food service workers, and many more. My passion for helping people and getting creative in the kitchen led me to create a blog where I can organize all of my recipes. In doing so, I am hoping to inspire others that healthy meals can be made quick, easy, and flavorful! My goal is to make it possible for people with busy lifestyles to ensure they are getting satisfying and balanced meals in.

Oh, and by the way, you will also see plenty of dessert and snack recipes on here. I am a firm believer that you can still incorporate these foods into your routine and be healthy. You will see these, along with recipes for quick and easy meals, make-ahead meals, and other ideas to make your life easier.
